ICT
Kool Kahootz
Students of all ages can create fantastic
three-dimensional environments which allows them to experience animation, add sounds to events and objects, link one scene to another to navigate and explore their personal world. Covering 60% of KS2 ICT curriculum, opportunities and creativity are endless using this cross-curricular software.
Mission maker
Mission Maker allows students to rapidly create visually rich worlds for first-person adventure ‘Missions’ - complete with sets, animated characters, simple dialogue and music. Students can:
• Select elements from an extensive
object library to create a unique
game world
• Animate 3D characters.
DataLogging
By monitoring a range of variables including light, temperature, sound, heart rate and weather conditions, students will gain an extensive understanding of how and why monitoring equipment can be used and develop knowledge and skills that are easily transferable to real life data-logging and monitoring situations. Students will have the opportunity to use real data logging equipment and create real data, including their own heart and respiratory rate whilst competing in Wii sports tournaments. The students will be introduced to the fundamentals of data logging using ‘Gomez Returns’. This acclaimed software uses simulated monitoring equipment and a range of engaging scenarios to develop students understanding of sensors and data logging and interpretation.
Roaming Robots
Students learn how to use modular LEGO Robotics Invention System programming software. Responses to touch and light sensors are programmed into the software and downloaded to the robot for testing:
• Inputs and outputs
• Switches and loops
• Procedures and annotations
• ICT control and monitoring
