Primary Focus Weeks
What are Focus weeks?
School Focus Weeks are a great way of concentrating children’s minds and are subject-focused, cross-curricular events that will help support teachers to run creative and engaging focus weeks for children from Foundation Stage right up to Year 6. Links with other curriculum areas, such as art, design technology and history show how ICT skills can be embedded across the curriculum.
Focus Weeks are becoming increasingly popular in primary schools as a creative and exciting way to explore Global Citizenship. Global Citizenship is not simply an area of the curriculum, but a way of thinking and behaving that should be central to the school ethos. In this way, used as part of a whole-school approach, Global Focus Weeks enable students to learn about the lives of others, find out about different cultures and at the same time evaluate aspects of their own lives.
