Encouraging Creativity Recognising Proficiency

Newcastle City Learning Centre’s specialist learning comprises the British Computer Society’s Digital Creator Award. This industry recognised award is structured to support students who want to make the most of digital media devices and computers.

The exciting and involving content comprises of eight units five of them over the creative aspects of digital media while the remaining three deal with sharing  work. Each unit equates to 12 learning hours.

 

Creative Units

  • Digital audio - understanding digital audio concepts and how they affect what the end user hears.
  • Digital Still Images - Understanding, capturing and manipulating still images.
    Moving Image Language - Understanding, capturing and manipulating still images.
  • Digital Video - Capturing and manipulating digital video.
    Storytelling With Animation - Working with digital animation in its different forms.

Sharing Units

  • Sharing digital media on optical media such as DVDs.
  • Sharing digital media on the web.
  • Sharing digital media using multimedia presentations.

 

Level 1 Award - Primary Schools

Level 2 Award - Secondary Schools

Both Awards have GCSE level equivalence

Work Related fields include: Graphic Artists, Web Designers, Multimedia Producers, Animators,Sound Designers, Video Production Technician.
