Creative media

Stop Frame Animation
This Curriculum Day enables students to gain experience in script writing and storyboarding prior to placing ideas into real life stop-motion animations. This popular event allows students to implement their creativity in storytelling whilst providing opportunities to explore the impact of music, transitions and sets which are required in the process of producing a quality film. The exact nature of the film will be customised to a current subject or project planned at your school. The skills learned during this Curriculum Day can be utilised within school through the loan of cameras and laptops to develop a project at school.

Time Machine
Use digital technology to create an advertising campaign using original photography and graphics. Students will carry out market research prior to this event and have knowledge of advertising techniques. Students will use Photoshop to create a TV commercial using our TV Studio for a product launch.

Mega-Media
Music and sound play an important part in film media production. The CLC can offer a ‘Mega-Media’ activity that will allow students to explore and develop musical ideas using ICT. Students will use simple music software to compose a musical piece for a short video sequence. Musical timing and atmosphere will be explored. Dance E-Jay or GarageBand are the perfect choice for budding musicians! Students will experience video editing and add their score to a video to bring it to life.

Digital Storytelling
Comic books and Graphic novels are also an important area of Creative Media. Comic Life is highly commended software that gives you a super-quick and easy way to create amazing comics and colourful picture albums.
